What makes a kitchen scandinavian
Handleless fronts
Push-to-open or a hidden groove along the edge of the panel. The front face stays one clean line.
Light oak with white
Natural or lightly bleached European oak combined with fronts in warm white or milk white.
Integrated lighting
LED under the upper cabinets, inside deep drawers, above the island. Not decorative — actual task lighting.
Hardware that barely shows
Concealed hinges, Blum Tandembox runners under the drawer, often no pulls at all.
White or natural countertop
Caesarstone Pure White, Frosty Carrina, or solid wood on the island if you want a warm accent.

The specific materials we use in scandinavian
European oak (Quercus Robur)
Natural or lightly bleached. Denser than American oak, fewer cracks over time.
Ash
Pronounced grain, a cheaper alternative to oak, good for larger projects.
Oven-baked white
Seven-coat polyurethane paint, matte or semi-gloss, scratch-resistant.
Caesarstone Pure White / Frosty Carrina
Even slabs, no pronounced veining, in line with the scandinavian palette.
Questions about the scandinavian style
Minimalist is about removing everything — one color, one material, no texture. Scandinavian leaves wood as a warm presence, which is what keeps the room from feeling sterile.
Especially for a small kitchen. The clean line and light tones visually open the space. Our rule: if the kitchen is under 10 sqm, we recommend handleless fronts even if the rest of the home is in a different style.
Good: earthy tones (terracotta, mustard) as small accents, sage green, stone grey. Poor: saturated colors — strong blue, red, pink.
Less than it did in 2018. It's still the most-requested style among clients aged 30-45 in Haifa and the area. In newer flats with large windows it looks most natural.
